Quick Update

We’re in Chicago for Christmas this year. It’s good to be back with family, friends, and FOOD. I love DC, but there’s nothing like Chicago food: Italian beef sandwiches, hot dogs, chili dogs, and deep dish pizza (which I’ll hopefully be having tonight).

Been a busy trip, I’ve visited a friend in Chicago, spent some time with my mom in the hospital (minor surgery, no worries), and beat Gears of War 2 with my brother. (He did most of the work.)

Tonight we’re heading to church with my dad. Been talking with two of his pastors, Jon and Dave Ferguson on Twitter, so looking forward to attending. I’ve been before, but it’s been a while.  If you happen to be looking for a Church around Chicago, check it out.  They have several campuses in Chicagoland.

Willow Creek Group Life 2008

Okay, this time I’m going to give you a heads up before I start liveblogging.

I’m currently in Chicago for the annual Willow Creek Group Life Conference. This is my first time there (the conference, not Chicago), but I hear that it is THE conference for small group ministry. So, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday expect regular posts on the sessions and breakouts I attend. You can also follow me on Twitter, where I’ll be posting my random thoughts as well as links to these posts.

I’m not sure what breakouts I’ll be attending yet. I’ll let you know when I’ve got this figured out, but I am excited about the one on doing ministry online that my boss, Heather Zempel, is leading.

If you’re going to be at the conference or around Willow Creek, either hit me up on Twitter or leave a comment here.

OOh, and I can’t forget to mention that it’s great to be able to get back to Chicago for a little while to see my family and eat some great Chicago hot dogs, roast beef, and pizza.

A Quick Update

I just arrived in Chicago about an hour and a half ago, and I’ve got to take off at 5:45 for Minnesota to go to a friend’s wedding, so I’ve got to make this quick.  Devin is one of my best friends from college, and I’m looking forward to seeing him get married.  I’m also excited to be back with my theology debating buddies and some of my old crew.  I’ve got a bunch of great content lined up for the blog when I get back to DC next week (and there just might be a sneak preview before that), so stay tuned.
